Admission Information

This program is designed to provide a career ladder for individuals who have graduated from or who are currently enrolled in an American Dental Association accredited dental assisting certificate program and seek to obtain an Associate of Applied Science degree. The program is designed to broaden the student’s education through the addition of a broad general education core and additional electives.

*Completion of all DAST components of ChSCC’s Dental Assisting Technical Certificate program and or current state or national certification or registration as a result of graduation from an American Dental Association accredited certificate program in dental assisting.

*These hours count toward the degree but carry no quality points, do not count in calculation of the grade point average, and may not be used toward satisfaction of the graduation residency requirements for the A.A.S. degree. If the alternate credit is earned at Chattanooga State Community College and/or is part of student’s academic transcript, the equivalent number of hours will be waived.

**Any combination of seven (7) hours must be taken from courses with the following prefixes: BIOL, CHEM, CS, CISP, HE, HS, HUM, MATH, PE, PHED, PHIL, SOCI, SP.
