HE 226 - Health Information Management Clinical Practice I(3)
Supervised learning is experienced in the basic functions of an HIM (health information management) department in hospitals accredited by the JCAHO and in select non-hospital settings. Emphasis is placed on student learning of HIM procedures, computer applications including registration and master patient index, data collection, analysis and presentation, data integrity and productivity assessment, protection of patient confidentiality, professional conduct, and ethical behavior.
