This course examines the history of visual communication as a vital component of civilization. This study will give students a better understanding of the social and cultural thinking which has created the ability of humans to communicate ideas through the language of visual forms, yielding graphic design as we know today. Class sessions will be devoted to lectures, presentations, demonstrations, and studio projects. Assessments will be made through project critique, tests, and quizzes.
