Associate of Science in Social Work, A.S., (TTP)

The Tennessee Board of Regents community colleges and the state’s public universities have joined together to develop a common core of courses for the Associate of Science (A.S.) degree. This common curriculum allows students to transfer, without loss of credit, from Chattanooga State to any Tennessee public university as juniors. All earned credit hours outlined on the pathway will apply toward a bachelor’s degree in the same discipline. The pathway guarantees admission to all public universities in the state, except for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where competitive admission standards will still apply.

Notes

Tennessee Transfer Pathways (TTPs) are advising tools designed to help community college students plan for transferring to a Tennessee public university or select regionally accredited, non-profit Tennessee private colleges and universities to complete their baccalaureate degree. The TTPs also constitute an agreement between community colleges and four-year colleges/universities confirming that community college courses meet major preparation requirements. For transfer to other four-year institutions, contact an advisor at the senior institution. Note: Due to the transferability to a four-year institution, there are to be no course substitutions where a specific course is required in the TTP curriculum guide.

*Students should confer with their advisor or a representative of the university to which they intend to transfer to determine the recommended Humanities/Fine Arts courses. Students who intend to transfer to UM should take LIT 2201 and LIT 2202 to fulfill this requirement. TSU also recommends a LIT sequence.

**ETSU requires a BIOL sequence: 1010/1020 or 1110/1120.

***TSU requires ECON. UM and UTC require ANTHRO.

****ETSU requires a Social Work Elective. Students should check with their advisor for the recommended course.

*****Students who intend to transfer to APSU or UTM should take BIOL 2010: Human Anatomy and Physiology I as an unspecified elective.
