Chattanooga State’s Economic and Workforce Development Office offers a wide range of industry specific training, certificate based education and customizable services:
1. Customized training for business and industry- Our team of business solutions managers work directly with industry leaders to understand your most pressing personnel challenges and develop customized training solutions to ensure your workforce is prepared to thrive in a constantly changing environment.
Among our offerings: Advanced Manufacturing, IT, Leadership and Supervisory Development, Chemical Operator, Hazardous Materials, and more.
2. Registered Apprenticeships- A combination of classwork and customized on-the-job training that results in employees with the knowledge and experience they need to succeed within their company.
3. AWS (American Welding Society) certification- One of only two AWS Accredited Testing Facilities in the state, and the only one in south/southeast Tennessee. Serving both employers and employees, the Certified Welder exams can be scheduled and administered in a flexible and on-demand basis.
4. Training, certification and licensure- Motorcycle, Welding, Heavy Equipment, Licensed Residential Contractor, Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assisting, Freight Brokering and more.
5. Virtual, on-demand classes available to the public- Microsoft Office, Google certification programs, Project Management and many more.
6. Summer camps for children and teens- Featuring camp experiences in Robotics, STEM, Theatre and others.
7. Use of Facility space- Space used for Professional Development or Workforce Training (industry specific conferences, business meetings, seminars, etc.) has a no-cost option, and space available for rent (cost option) for various community involvement such as: dance recitals, theater performances, general informational meetings, etc.
