Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) is vital for constructing and maintaining various types of components and structures, to ensure the safety and reliability of products and systems, and to verify that standards of quality are met.  QA/QC technicians are needed in a wide variety of industries including power, construction, logistics and supply, consumable products, medical and pharmaceutical, textile and manufacturing, and petrochemical. 

 

Associate of Applied Science

 Quality assurance (QA) refers to the planned and systematic activities implemented in a quality system so that quality requirements for a product or service will be fulfilled.  Quality control refers to the actual testing of products to uncover defects or to ensure a product meets design specifications.  QA/QC technicians may perform quality audits, determine the root cause for a failure, or perform quality control testing according to written procedures.

Upon successful completion of the A.A.S. in Engineering Technology-Quality Assurance/Quality Control Technology concentration, graduates will possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to make an intelligent entry into the power, construction, and manufacturing industries.
