Students who complete all courses listed on a Tennessee Transfer Pathway will earn a Chattanooga State A.A. degree and are guaranteed that all the courses will count toward that university major. Tennessee Transfer Pathways’ prescribed curriculum must be followed exactly to ensure all credit hours transfer. Particular universities or programs may have additional requirements. Admission into a university does not guarantee admission into a college within the university or an academic program. Chattanooga State encourages students to consult with their four-year institution early in their academic program.
If you choose a major at a university without a Tennessee Transfer Pathway agreement, it will be especially important to see your advisor or success coach so that your plans can be made early.
The Associate of Science (A.S.) and Associate of Arts (A.A.) degrees with a concentration in Economics at Chattanooga State prepare you for transfer to a university through the Tennessee Transfer Pathway (TTP).
For any finance-related career, an economics degree is a good foundation to build on. Economics examines questions related to resource allocation, incentives, and wealth. Employment of economists is projected to grow 14 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations.
Chattanooga State’s Economics concentration focuses on the intersection of money, markets, resources, scarcity, and how those factors impact individuals and societies. It prepares you for careers that require numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
