Administrative Professional Technology Concentration


Associate of Applied Science Degree

Business Division

The Administrative Professional Technology Program is designed to provide a two-year degree for those who desire skills needed in the workforce at large. Graduates may enter the workforce and proceed with further education or fully dedicate their efforts toward a career as an administrative professional.

Career Opportunities: Executive Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Office Manager, Office Supervisor, Administrative Coordinator, Administrative Specialist, Assistant to Executive Title, Administrative Manager, Customer Service Representative, Administrative Associate, Executive/Secretary, Word Processing Specialist,  Medical Office Administrator, Legal Office, Legal/Medical Secretary.

After completion of 12 semester hours of college level work at Chattanooga State, Certified Administrative Professionals (CAP) may receive up to 12 hours of college credit, applicable toward the Business A.A.S. degree Administrative Professional Technology Concentration only. This credit may not duplicate or replace previously earned college credits. The student must present proof that all parts of the CAP exam have been passed and must be actively pursuing an Administrative Professional Technology major. The courses for which credit may be awarded are:

“This program of study is designed as a terminal degree for a specific career field.  The associated courses are not designed to transfer to a four-year institution.”
