Fire Science Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree

This program is designed for experienced emergency services personnel who desire additional education for improved job performance and/or advancement. The program covers legal issues, safety, research, and emergency services, as well as supervision, leadership, planning, prevention, systems, and fire behavior.

Career Opportunities
Company officer/chief officer positions with fire departments, emergency medical supervision, and fire brigade leaders.

** Technical Electives totaling fourteen (14) hours must be selected from courses with the following prefixes: EMSA, FMSB, FMSP, FI, HZ, BUSN, OS. Alternatively, students who plan to transfer to a four year program may, with adviser approval, use their Technical Elective hours to take additional General Education courses needed to satisfy requirements for the baccalaureate degree. Students with current state or national licensure as Emergency Medical Technicians may be eligible for Advanced Standing credit toward the Technical Elective requirement.
