03:75:00 Student Health Clinic Eligibility
- Purpose: Establish eligibility and services provided by the Student Health Clinic.
- Eligibility: All Chattanooga State Community College (ChattState) and Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) degree seeking students over the age of 18 years are eligible to access Student Health Center (SHC) services via the stipulations below:

Any student under eighteen years of age are defined as pediatric patients and are unable to be seen in the Student Health Clinic. This includes dual enrollment, early college, Collegiate High, Polytech Academy and STEM school students.

Faculty/staff of ChattState and TCAT are not eligible for examination, consultation, or treatment.

Withdrawal from all classes terminates access to the SHC.

Any non-students who present to the Student Health Clinic in an emergency will be stabilized while emergency medical services are summoned.

Completion of Spring courses with enrollment in Fall courses will allow the student to be seen by the SHC over the summer even if not enrolled.

Exclusions:

Students with chronic illness, as well as pregnant students, must be under the care of a personal healthcare provider for the management of their condition. Treatment for non-related acute illnesses can be obtained at the SHC.

The SHC provides services only when ChattState is in session.

Off-campus work-related injuries of students must be treated by the healthcare provider designated by the student’s employer. The SHC does not provide care for non-university work-related injuries.

ChattState and TCAT employees, student assistants, and other college assistants who receive an injury while working at the college will report to their director for instruction regarding treatment.

Students who sustain injuries because of an automobile accident are to be evaluated by their primary healthcare provider, urgent care, or hospital department. The SHC does not provide care for injuries sustained from automobile accidents.
