08:29:00 Technology Support for Moves/Adds/Changes

  1. Introduction: Technology Division is responsible for providing technology support for moves, adds and changes (MAC) which are to be fully planned and implemented in accordance with ChSCC Business and Finance Procedure 5:22:00 Moves and Renovation. Support for these types of projects range from network and telephone access, network communication cable pulls and implementation, PC and other desk type equipment such as printers or scanner purchase and implementation for both TAF and non-TAF purchases, phone set-ups and implementation and audio video purchases and implementation.
  2. Scope: The scope includes all College staff, faculty and adjuncts who have the authority to initiate a project request that will include, or might include, necessary Technology support to ensure project success.
  3. Technology support will be provided for the three categories or combinations of categories of Moves/Adds/Changes per ChSCC Business and Finance Procedure 5:22:00.
  4. All MAC type move requests will be handled in accordance with ChSCC Business and Finance Policy 5:22:00 Section C. In order to ensure a successful project that includes Technology Division support, please do the following:
    1. All projects of this nature must be discussed and approved by requestor's Vice President and by Technology's Vice President before action is taken.
    2. Once approved, the requester will enter a request in the ChSCC Technology Service Request system as a MAC project. Once the service request is received, Technology will contact Physical Plant to add the project to their scheduled pre-move meeting.  Emergency requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
    3. No action will be taken by any Technology department until the request is discussed and approved at the scheduled pre-move meeting.
    4. Directions for Technology staff will be provided by Vice President of Technology, unless otherwise stated.  A report concerning number of moves and their status will be available on the Technology web site. This will allow tracking of status of projects.
    5. MAC requests that require Technology support should be submitted for approval not later than four weeks prior to the end of the semester to ensure schedules are kept up to date for all projects.
    6. Requesters need to be able to provide enough information for Technology to be able to provide a cost estimate, if needed, to those requested. Any changes made to the project will result in a re-estimation of costs and time required. This could impact schedule completion date.
    7. All requests for any type of support for a MAC project, especially changes that impact approved project schedules, must be discussed and approved by the Vice President of Technology. This approval is obtained by discussing the change with the VP of Technology only. This is to ensure all projects are managed properly and changes are discussed with other divisions as needed.
