Explanation of benefit: The longevity pay plan rewards state employees upon completion of 36 months of service with the State. Rate of pay and continuation of the plan is established annually by the Legislature. Eligible employees receive longevity pay for each year of creditable serve up to the maximum provided by law. The effective rate of pay currently equals $100 per year of service to a maximum of thirty (30) years. Payment will be issued with the payment being a part of the regular payroll check. Payments are subject to Federal Withholding Tax and Social Security Tax.

The longevity anniversary date shall be that date on which thirty-six months of creditable full-time regular service is completed. At the time of initial employment, the longevity anniversary date is established utilizing all periods of prior eligible service. If the employee does not indicate prior service, the longevity anniversary date is the same as the initial employment date.
