Flexible Work Schedule for Non-Faculty
06:53:00 Flexible Work Schedule for Non-Faculty
- The primary purpose of administrative/professional and clerical/support personnel are overall management of the College and support of academic functions. Therefore, it is important that various offices be open and fully operational during hours of highest demand as well as during time periods generally associated with “normal business hours.”
- The standard office hours are 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Major daytime classroom activities begin at 8am; evening classroom activities begin at 5:30pm. Office services are needed at least one half hour prior to these starting times to ensure adequate support.
- Generally, campus offices will operate on alternate schedules in order to provide full access between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm, Monday through Thursday, and 7:30am to 4:30pm on Friday. Individual employees will follow one of the following schedules:
- 8am to 4:30pm-Monday through Friday
- 8:30am to 5:30pm-Monday through Thursday and 8:30am to 3pm on Friday.
- 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday and 7:30am to 2pm on Friday.
- NOTE: All full-time employees shall work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
- Departments where alternative flex schedules are needed should submit a written request to the supervisor. Upon approval by the supervisor, the request must be forwarded to the President for final approval. Departments should bear in mind that work schedules should facilitate maximum productivity of staff and office coverage.
- When a supervisor needs to change the work schedule of an employee to accommodate an extenuating circumstance (example: the employee being assigned to work on a Saturday and the supervisor allowing the employee to be off on Monday), this situation is an exception to the policy and is not done as an alternative flexible schedule. It is expected that all employees have a set work schedule.
