Mass Communication, A.S. (TTP)

Mass Communication, A.S. (TTP)

The Mass Communication degree is designed to prepare students for transfer to a 4-year institution. This program prepares students for more advanced study in a pathway through which students can pursue careers in advertising, reporting, television production, radio broadcasting, and public relations. (Catalog Addendum-August 14, 2025-The description was updated on this date.)

Students who complete all courses listed on a Tennessee Transfer Pathway will earn a Chattanooga State A.A. degree and are guaranteed that all the courses will count toward that university major. Tennessee Transfer Pathways’ prescribed curriculum must be followed exactly to ensure all credit hours transfer. Particular universities or programs may have additional requirements. Admission into a university does not guarantee admission into a college within the university or an academic program. Chattanooga State encourages students to consult with their four-year institution early in their academic program.

If you choose a major at a university without a Tennessee Transfer Pathway agreement, it will be especially important to see your advisor or success coach so that your plans can be made early.
