Credit and Industrial Technology Divisions
Fee Waivers or Tuition Discount/Waivers must be submitted at registration and fee payment. Waivers cannot be accepted after the fee payment deadline. Except as otherwise noted, fee payment is due at the time of registration.

In-State Residency Classification
Residency Application with supporting documents should be submitted at registration/ fee payment and no later than the first day of classes (full session). If a student classified as out-of-state applies for Tennessee residency and is subsequently approved, in-state classification is effective as of the approval date. However, out-of-state tuition will be charged for the semester unless in-state residency is proven before the first day of classes for the full session. In-state residency cannot be approved retroactively.

Permanently Disabled and Senior Audit participants may register based on space availability on the session begin date. A late fee will be charged if registered after the session begin date.

General Information

  • Fee payment or arrangements are required at the time of regular or late registration.
  • A $10 late fee will be charged to students who register on or after the official first day of classes.
  • Some courses require additional designated fees.
  • Admission and Intent to Graduate Application fees are non-refundable.
  • Exceptions to withdrawal deadlines are approved by the Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs under extenuating circumstances only. Exceptions to refund deadlines are approved by the Vice President for Business and Finance under extenuating circumstances only. An appeal for either type of exception must be made in writing to the appropriate Vice President.
  • If a student who owes a deferred payment withdraws from school, the difference between the portion of charges that would normally be refundable (if any) and the amount paid on the deferred payment plan becomes immediately due and payable in full.
  • Contact the Bursar’s office for fee and refund information (423-697-4732) or view refund policies online.
  • Note to Financial Aid Recipients: Students who drop, withdraw or stop attending classes prior to completing more than 60% of an enrollment term will have aid recalculated based on the percent of the term completed and may be required to repay aid awarded. Please consult the Financial Aid Office for specific rules governing aid.
  • Drops/Withdrawal: Students may drop their last course or all courses online prior to session drop deadlines. Exception: Students must have approval of the Director of Transitional Studies to drop a transitional studies course (DSPM, DSPR, DSPW). These courses cannot be dropped online. Approved drops can be processed in  Enrollment Services on the main campus or at any off-campus site.
