14:07:00 Online-Hybrid Learning Agreement

  1. The purpose of this policy is to delineate how the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) will deliver programs in a hybrid format so students will have an opportunity to complete a portion of a program’s coursework outside the regularly scheduled meeting times.
  2. For this proposal, TCAT Chattanooga defines hybrid as a combination of online/virtual learning experiences and traditional classroom/laboratory group meetings.  The online/virtual portion may include, but is not limited to, reading assignments, watching videos, completing learning exercises and assessments, group and individual video meetings/demonstrations via Zoom, Microsoft Teams or other similar platforms.
  3. The online-hybrid learning portion of the course may account for a maximum of forty (40%) percent but not to exceed the maximum allowed by the state licensure board or accrediting body of the required course hours. Failure to complete the online-hybrid coursework will result in no clock hour credit given for time, not in a class, causing the student’s total clock hours to fall below the level required for completion of the program.
  4. Students are required to complete all program assignments - hybrid and traditional in class activities - in order to receive clock hour credit.
  5. Instructors will counsel students who reach 5% absences and/or have a grade of “C” or lower for the term, and students who reach 8% absences and/or have a grade of “C” or lower will be referred to the dean for additional counseling.
