10:04:02 Social Media Policy

 

  1. Introduction
    1. Chattanooga State Community College encourages the use of social media including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and Snapchat. Such apps offer open lines of communication between Chattanooga State and the community, allowing the college to share events, information, and educational opportunities.
  2. Chattanooga State’s Marketing & Communications Department is responsible for the College’s official social media accounts.
  3. Professional Social Media Accounts
    1. Departments, clubs, organizations, etc. are encouraged to maintain interactive social media accounts that promote engagement and open discussion of topics related to Chattanooga State, education, and careers in general.
    2. By using a social media service as a representative of Chattanooga State Community College, all site administrators must follow the user requirements outlined in the Procedural Guidelines for this policy and the Digitial Accessibility Policy 02:13:05.
  4. Personal Social Media Accounts
    1. While this policy is not intended to dissuade employees from using personal social media accounts or any other forms of communication protected by local, state, or federal law, Chattanooga State Community College employees must abide by all the Procedural Guidelines for this policy when using any form of external electronic social networking, communications systems, web logs (blogs), etc.
    2. This applies to both College resources and all other electronic resources, as well as any personal social media/ networking/communications accounts.
