Campus Announcement Email Messages

  1. Introduction: Campus-wide announcements are an important aspect of ensuring effective campus communication. All faculty and staff share in the responsibility of effectively and accurately exchanging information for the work related purposes of the College. This policy establishes a standard for sending email messages and communications to all college personnel. All faculty and staff (including contractors and student workers) are covered under this policy.
  1. All faculty and staff may submit Chattanooga State related information to campus.announcements@chattanoogastate.edu for campus distribution. The campus operator will monitor this account and messages will be forwarded to the campus if they meet one of the following criteria:
    1. Administrative messages from the President, Vice-Presidents, Deans and Directors.
    2. Announcements concerning officially recognized faculty/staff committees.
    3. Departmental announcements that could pertain to all faculty and staff, i.e., library, training, performances, events.
    4. Alerts concerning campus facilities and personnel, i.e., alarms, networks, electrical.
    5. Internal postings from Human Resources.
    6. Charity fund-raisers only when a team is representing Chattanooga State.
    7. Athletic Department student updates.
    8. Death of an employee. This will be done only with the family's permission.
    9. Retirement of an employee.
  1. At their discretion, the President and Vice Presidents can send emails to the entire campus directly from their email accounts on behalf of themselves or those within their departments.
